Links and info on the topics we discussed in Episode 2: Finger Juice

This week Baltimore State's Attorney Marlyin Mosby charged six officers with the homicide of Freddie Gray

Meanwhile, Deidre's friends tried make a love connection with City Councilman Nick Mosby after this interview

And then we found out he was married.

The Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight happened and the only thing that mattered was Beyonce's outfit.

Usually dapper Denzel showed up looking like that uncle who harrasses your friends at the cookout.

Jamie Foxx botched the anthem, some dudes threw punches, people on social media were salty over the coins earned and there was a national chicken wing shortage. At the end of the day...

In attempt to lighten spirits, we shared our favorite moments in reality tv history.

1. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills You Beast

2. Real Housewives of Atlanta Phaedra vs. Kenya

***Update*** Phaedra's baby daddy is in prison again. Kenya is still without child

3. The Real World Boston Vaj vs Montana

4. Real World Hawaii Ruthie's Intervention

5. Making Da Band 5 Best Rappers

6. So You Think You Can Dance Joshua and Katie's No Air (that moment at :50 tho!)

7.  The Real Housewives of New Jersey Table Flip

8. Real World Seattle the Slap

And while medicated, Deidre tried to use this scene from Jane the Virgin to explain how love is like finger juice. Yeah, it happened.

Did we forget a reality tv moment? Are you watching Jane the Virgin? If not, get on over to the CW and catch up. Would you try Deidre's Finger Juice cocktail?

Thanks for listening!

No Fear: My Oprahversary

3.25.2013

Today’s my Oprah-versary! If you don’t get down with Lady O you might want to tap out right now because this post is all about my experience on Lifeclass one year ago.

Remember how I wrote an entry about going to see Oprah’sLifeclass then I fell off the blogosphere? It is because I couldn’t find the words to express what the experience was like.

"O" Happy Day!

2.29.2012

Y'all...
You know it's serious when I start with a "y'all." OK, something so major, so epic, so monumental, is happening in less than 30 days and I am about to burst with excitement and joy.

No, I'm not getting married, I'm not moving, but I will fulfill a dream that has been 25 years in the making.

I'm going to see OPRAH!!!!!!!

Her legendary talk show came to an end nearly a year ago and I thought I had missed my opportunity to see Lady O do her thing in front of a live audience.  As promised, she hasn't gone away, but she's started a new chapter on her OWN Network.

On March 26, she's filming an episode of her powerful series Lifeclass at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis with Rev. T.D. Jakes, and I will be in the audience!

Season one of Lifeclass blew my mind. Each night, Oprah revisited the most unforgettable topics from the Oprah Winfrey Show and how those stories, and guests can serve as teachable moments to help you live your best life.

Last week it was announced that season 2 was in the works and Oprah was taking the show on the road.Tickets were given away at random via an online lottery process and my dear friend and Lifeclassmate, Dewaynia scored a pair! I can't think of anyone I'd rather go with. We have spent countless hours in my room, with notebooks and Kleenex consuming the life lessons and applying them to our personal goals. Now we get a chance to see Professor Oprah in person and together.

So now we play the waiting game. Tickets have been booked, hotel is set. I think Dewaynia has her outfit selected!  I will keep you updated as we receive more details, but for now I hope you will set your DVRs and tune in.

2011 Golden Globes Recap

1.18.2011

I apologize for being late with my Golden Globes recap. The broadcast was pretty uneventful, no major moments, no performances, and no remarkable speeches or upsets. So let's get to the important stuff, the fashion! The good, the men, and the "what the what?' Let's do this!

My pick for best dressed goes to Eva Longoria. I love this dress because I think it is flattering on almost any shape. I adore the cap sleeves, the deep v-neckline, and the classic black dress on the red carpet. Extra credit for the neat up do and minimal jewelry.

Ahh Claire Danes, always classy and so pretty in pink! Again I am a fan of the simple classic look at an awards show. Less is more. In 30 years we will look back on this dress and it will still be considered a stunning look.

Claire picked up a Golden Globe for her role as Temple Grandin produced by HBO.

Glee's Leah Michele in a lovely pink gown. I like everything about this look except the hair. A neater do would have made the dress the focal point. Either do a bold dress with a simple do, or a bold do with a simple dress. Doing both takes away from the overall look.

Mila Kunis...nuff said. Perfect, hair, perfect dress. Perfect 10

Glee's Diana Agron

  Halle Berry

Modern Family's Sofia Vergara

Vanessa Williams (how hot is she?)

Glee's Amber Riley

Kelly Osbourne & Julia Stiles

Catherine Zeta-Jones

And now the bad.....
Helena Bonham Carter

Sandra Bullock, bad hair, bad dress. It pains me to put her on this list

Anne Hathaway looks like she took a ride on a disco stick

Seal and Heidi Klum, why?
 Tina Fey
To quote the old man from Coming to America "What is that? Velvet?"

From Mad Men: January Jones and Christina Hendricks. Jones looks too severe, and Hendricks looks cartoon-ish.

And the worst dressed woman at the Golden Globes....

Gabourey Sidibe

Now ladies (and some gents, I don't judge) get ready for some eye candy!

The hotness that is Brad Pitt

Zac Efron aka My Heart

Robert Downey Jr.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Matthew Morrison

Jimmy Fallon
L.L. Cool J

I had to save the best for last.....

Blair Underwood aka Sir Chocolate

You know why I like Blair? He's handsome, talented, and seems to be a loyal hubby and father. Nothing hotter than a responsible man in my book!

American Music Awards Fashion Recap

11.22.2010

The times are a changing because I totally forgot about the American Music Awards last night. I think I was too busy recovering from the Harry Potter awesomeness. I tuned in just in time to hear Katy Perry struggle through that Firework song. Has anyone noticed her little on stage trick? No not the one where she distracts her audience from her "singing" voice with something exploding from her bra (in the past she's used confetti and whipped cream.) I'm referring to her use of "uh oh uh" as an excuse not to hold a note and crack on live TV.

Word on the street, I mean the BACKstreets (hee hee) is the best part of the show was the New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys medley at the end of the night. Thankfully someone posted their performance on Youtube so I was able to get my groove on during the commercial breaks at work.

I don't know why I decided to skip the awards all together (I didn't even DVR it.) Maybe because these shows have become so predictable. Bad clothes, bad singing, movie/album plugs and the night ends with Taylor Swift singing a song about a dude who done did her wrong.

No matter what I think of the awards show, I can't let a chance to review the red carpet frocks pass me by so here we go!

The Good

I loved this dress on Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. I thought it was fun and flirty and I'm loving the blue and black from head to toe. It doesn't hurt that her body is amazing and she looks fit and healthy but still has some lovely lady lumps.

Jada Pinkett Smith looks like a goddess in her custom made Pucci dress. Her skin is flawless and the color of the dress compliments her  beautiful skin tone.

I prefer Tay-Tay's straight hair and short dress over the big curly hair and poofy dresses she usually wears.

For the first time in a long time Katy Perry looks like a lady! To quote Swizz Beatz, "Nails done, hair done, everything did."

It pains me to admit it but even Miley Cyrus couldn't mess up this look. She managed to mix the sexy with classy and the old school train works with the modern look of the dress.

The Bad

Christina Milian is one of the most beautiful women in the industry but she continues to wear fugly clothes! She needs a new stylist and agent because she deserves better.

This reminds me of those old curtains your Grandma would have in the living room straight from the JC Penny catalog. Mandy Moore, I know you're married to Ryan Adams, a serious indie artist and I love him and his moody melodies, but please remember your outfits don't have to match his music

Gavin did you even shower?

As crazy as this is, trust me it is an upgrade for Ke$ha

?????

And the Bieber

Isn't he dreamy?

Well there you have it. My AMA fashion review. Who are your picks for best and worst dressed?
