Brain Candy

9.27.2010

I try to stay informed and watch the news like a good citizen but sometimes, it just bums me out. I am not naive and I know the world is full of bad people, doing bad things, but today I'm just not in the mood for any of it! I grabbed my laptop, got online and started reading about all my favorite stars in Hollyweird and decided to share some of the stories that caught my eye with you guys! Don't worry, I will be sure to balance the brain candy with more serious news but for now, just indulge me ok?

Holy brain aneurysm Batman! Bret Michael is looking fit as a fiddle on the latest cover of Billboard Magazine!
I'm not sure how I feel about his lack of clothing, but I am very happy to see him looking good after all of his health problems. I know it's a done-deal and a dead debate, but I was really rooting for him to be a judge on American Idol.

Earlier today Rihanna tweeted this pic from the set of her new video "Only Girl In the World". I'm not a huge fan of this chick, but I must admit when I saw this image I thought it was beautiful, and a much needed change of pace. I'm so over that dark, edgy, Resident Evil looking vibe she was selling with her last album. Not a fan of the Homey the Clown hair but, it is an improvement.

Speaking of hair, if you haven't heard Willow Smith's  single "I Whip My Hair" yet, you must be living under a rock and you are in for a treat! Listen to it right here:

How cute is this song? And the message is a positive one, celebrating self confidence and hair acceptance, an issue many young girls struggle with. Straight, short, long, kinky, just whip it!!
I have always been a fan of Will and Jada Smith, but their kids seemed a little too grown to me in interviews. However, I've been converted. I am not ashamed to say I loved Jayden in the Karate Kid remake, and I'm totally downloading this song when it is available on iTunes! The kid is just too fly! I think she gets it from her mom.

I know a lot of you will be tuning in to Dancing With the Stars tonight, and I have some spoilers courtesty of TMZ. Here is the line up and song list for tonight's show!

-- Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke -- "Tush" (jive)
-- Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas -- "Suddenly I See" (quickstep)
-- Brandy and Maks Chmerkovskiy -- "Magic" (jive)
-- Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower -- "Hound Dog" (quickstep)

-- Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya -- "Danger Zone" (jive)
-- Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas -- "You Can't Hurry Love" (quickstep)
-- The Situation and Karina Smirnoff -- "We No Speak Americano" (quickstep)

In other news, video of Mariah Carey falling on stage surfaced this morning. See I can laugh at this because it looks like she's alright. I don't know about you, but I can't help but crack up when people fall, even when it's me! Here's the video:

Ok, I'm done, I need to cook dinner and squeeze in a short workout before my shows start! What do you think about the entertainment news posts? Should I do more of them? Tell me what you want, what you really, really want!

Until next time,
Deidre
